My name is Jim Royston. I'm very recently retired and live in Plano Texas. My great friend and co conspirator is Dan Smith of Dallas, who makes beautiful fly rods. I, on the other hand, bang them out and enjoy every minute of doing so. I became intrigued with this bamboo rod building some 35 years ago, after reading Garrison's book. It took until recently for me to take the plunge. I'm presently making a Payne Parabolic for a friend in Jackson Hole and hope he fishes the heck out of it. I am among the 3% who use resorcinol. That's what the book said and I'm stickin' to it.
