Well - my name is Jimmy Chang from many places of the globe but am currently residing in Detroit area.

I grew up fly fishing the rivers of British Columbia and have fished waters in many continents. This is would be my 24th year in fly fishing, tying; I have a full basement dedicated to making bamboo rods. I am a certified fly casting instructor and am more interested in rod performance rather than fishing. My current projects are hollow-built, shorter 2-handed rods in lighter line weights.

I am also making reel seats, ferrules from solid titanium bar stock on CNC machines.

In my past life, I have worked as a staff photographer for a fly fishing magazine on the west coast, freelanced for some nationally published media, and managed a small team in financial/sales system for a car maker in Detroit.

I am perhaps best known here for speaking my mind, often getting quite a few people upset on the list, but I have always tried to be fair and honest.

Having said  that - I am still a willing student of rod making; if I know it all, then, truly, I know nothing at all.
